You will answer 30 multiple-choice questions. Each question shows an English word with four possible definitions. Choose the correct definition. The adaptive algorithm adjusts difficulty based on your answers. After 30 questions, we calculate your estimated vocabulary size.

The test starts at intermediate level. When you answer correctly, the next question is harder. When you answer incorrectly, it becomes easier. This ensures the test accurately measures your vocabulary level in just 30 questions.

How accurate is the vocabulary estimate?
The estimate has a precision of approximately ±500 words. It is based on an IRT-inspired adaptive algorithm that adjusts to your ability level. For a more precise measurement, take the test multiple times.
How many words are in the question bank?
The test draws from a bank of 60 words organized into 5 difficulty pools: beginner, elementary, intermediate, advanced, and expert. Each pool contains 12 carefully selected words.
Can I take the test more than once?
Yes! You can retake the test as many times as you like. The adaptive algorithm will select different questions based on the difficulty level you reach.
How does the scoring work?
